  5 years ago they were 25, now they hit the BIG 30-----and still single---jw girls.

  experience from reddit.

  i’m in my mid 20’s but i’m noticing alot of sisters that are 35, 40 and just kind of lost.

  single, still live at home or heavily dependent on parents because they have measly jobs.

  I've been told that at my old congregation there aren't enough young men around. The 18 year old boys marry the 18 year old girls. That leaves the momma's boys and the nerds. Slim pickings!

  That leaves some women ( who are looking to get married ) attend Spanish Congregations. Less than one year of knowing each other, they get married.

  At my old congregation, the women chased the men. The women knew that the odds got worse if you weren't married by a certain age. There were so many pretty girls who married real nerds and dorks. Men always had it easier to find a marriage mate than a woman.

  If a woman wasn't married by 30, the odds were not good. I have three female cousins who are now in their 60's, who never married. I always remind them that sometimes it's better being single than being married to the wrong person. There were plenty of divorces in my congregation that I can write a book!

  I studied the Bible for over 40 years and I believe the opposite but that is the beauty of being an exjw , we can agree to disagree

  I was a Jehovah's Witness for 42 years. We really didn't study the Bible. We studied Watchtower Society books and articles. I walked away 9 years ago. Either the Bible is real or not that's for everyone to decide for themselves. For me, the more I dig into the Bible stories, I do not believe God inspired any of these fabricated stories!

  If He does exist you have to accept that you're dealing with a non terrestrial entity that has existed for eons of time and He made it clear in the Bible that His ways are not our ways, and His judgements are not like our judgement.

  If there is a God, there would be in no way that he inspired the Bible. A mish-mash book written by great story tellers. A book written by Jews, who made themselves ''God's chosen people.''

  Take the Noah's Ark story. The whole earth is evil, Noah builds an Ark that is humanly impossible, Noah gathers animals that live in all kinds of weather zones and land masses, and only his family survives out of probably millions living in that time period. God destroys every living thing because he wants to start new. What happens? Evil returns in greater numbers!

  God killed them because they were drunk and they didn't take seriously their position as priests of the Tabernacle.That being the case, what exactly is the argument here? Has God the right to set rules ? Has God has the right to terminate life as he pleases? I'm not taking a position just trying to understand the nature of the argument here

  If God is real, why does he take extreme measures?

  If you have children, do you kill them after they do not follow your orders? Do you threaten them with death? You can...you are more powerful than they are. Does a loving God have to punish everyone with death? When my children didn't follow my rules, I didn't beat them with a belt nor punish them with the threat of death? I'm a mere mortal and death should never be a punishment.

  Why hasn't God put Satan to death? Satan deserves to die more than someone who touches the Ark of the Covenant.

  Ever since I discovered this forum I read the Bible more than when I was a Jehovah's Witness. You begin to understand what a silly book the Bible is.

  10 Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. 2 So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. 3 Moses then said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke of when he said:

  “‘Among those who approach me
  I will be proved holy;
  in the sight of all the people
  I will be honored.’”

  Aaron remained silent.

  

  If you are to believe this story, you really need to question why God has to kill people who disobey his orders. Nadab and Abihu do not follow his orders and procedures. God is so incensed that he strikes them dead with fire and burns them to cinders.

  Why didn't God just blind them, make them deaf or give them some kind of disorder?

  George Carlin ( a comedian ) once said: Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man ... living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you.

  Rules and regulations, don’t forget that the WT society is the “channel” that the only true God is using, so they know better than you whether to do plumbing work at a Catholic Church or not. Why, what if you were in the church when Armageddon strikes, you might lose your life! 🤮

  Thirty years ago I started a landscaping company. There are many landscapers at your local Kingdom Halls. An elder ( who was also a landscaper ) advised me that I cannot do any lawn maintenance or any plantings for any church ( Babylon the Great ).

  So, walking on a Church property and maintaining it is wrong, but it's alright when the Watchtower Society sell their Kingdom Halls to another Church.

  "So before we make a decision, we need to think about what the Bible says and then obey it. We can pray to Jehovah to help us make decisions that will please him."

  So, if I want to listen to ''heavy metal music'' and the Bible has no say so in the matter, how will praying give me the answer?

  I would like to work at a Catholic Church High School as a plumber. The Bible has no say so in the matter, but the Society teach that we should not be employed for a ''Babylon the Great'' facility? How will praying help me get the answer?

  The Watchtower Society always overrule any personal decisions!

  Prayer—What It Can Do for You

  Like Jesus, many today have been reassured when they have seen how God has responded to their requests for help in making wise decisions. Regina, in the Philippines, tells of the various problems she has faced, such as supporting herself and her family after the death of her husband, losing a job, and experiencing difficulty in raising children. What has helped her to make wise decisions? She says, “I depend on Jehovah’s help through prayer.” Kwabena, in Ghana, tells why he asked for God’s help, “I lost my well-paying job in construction.” About considering his options, he says, “I consistently prayed to Jehovah for guidance in making the right decision.” He adds, “I feel strongly that Jehovah helped me to choose a career that enables me to care for my spiritual and physical needs.” You too can experience God’s guidance by praying about matters that could affect your relationship with him.

  Kwabena loses a well-paying job. How does Kwabena find a new job? Does he look at local job sites, network or even send out resumes to local employers? That is too hard!

  Kwabena prays to Jehovah. Jehovah helps him choose a career where he gets paid a decent wage and has time to make his meetings and field service. Jehovah must be the greatest networker.

  So, can explain anyone how Jehovah found this job for Kwabena, and how was Kwabena guided to apply for this job? Did the ''holy spirit'' walk him to the employer or did the ''holy spirit'' have a link on his computer, where an employer was waiting for Kwabena to fill?

  If it is so easy to pray for a job, there would be no unemployed Jehovah's Witnesses, and no ne would be holding manual labor jobs that pay minimum wage!

  Even a prayer of thanks is unnecessary as if you are truly grateful He already knows it before you receive your Godly gift and before you appreciate it.

  Adults who have children never ask for daily gratitude from their children for providing food, clothing and for putting them through school. Parents don't need a daily phone call from their children thanking them for everything they have done for them.

  Employers don't need to be thanked and worshipped on a daily basis for providing employment. If someone hands you a gift, a one time thank you is enough.

  karl klien life story from the watchtower.. "president rutherford had repeated occasions to reprove me for breaking some rule.

  (under president knorr 1950) brother knorr invited me to join the writing department...when i told him it did not matter where i served he reproved me..saying when an added privilege is offered we should be eager to accept it...my attitude was due to my health which has always been a problem.

  knorr was older we were like brothers with the older brother knorr prone to expressing inpatients to my short comings.

  Yes, it was painfully obvious about the Witnesses’ terrible attitudes about women.

  Attitude towards rape:
  

  “Thus if a Christian woman does not cry out and does not put forth every effort to flee, she would be viewed as consenting to the violation.” Watchtower 1964 Jan 15 pp.63-4

  Attitude towards domestic abuse:

  “He might be extremely physically abusive, even to the point that she feels that her health or life is in danger. He might refuse to support her and the family or severely endanger her spirituality. … some Christians have personally decided that … a separation is necessary. But other Christians in comparably difficult situations have not; they have endured and tried to work on improving matters. … Many loyal Christians have remained with an unbelieving mate under very trying circumstances.” Watchtower 2018 Dec p.14
